Blakesley CE Primary School is a rural Church of England Primary school, with about 100 pupils on its roll, working in four classes.
Our Mission
All aspects of our school revolve around our mission statement which is a commitment to:
- good quality education for all
- a happy, caring environment
- valuing needs, abilities and achievements
- promoting Christian values
In caring for our children, we aim to support them sympathetically and encourage positive attitudes to learning, school and life. The range of topics throughout the school helps your child to develop socially, morally and emotionally. We will help your child to:
- make friends
- become more independent
- become a healthy adult
- be safe in the outside world
- care about others
- care about their environment
- enjoy their education and achieve the best possible standards
We welcome all children into our school community.
As we believe that the links between the home and school are really important to your child's learning, we encourage all parents to get to know our school and the staff with whom your child will be in daily contact. We hold open evenings for parents in the Autumn and Spring Terms and there is a formal report at the end of the summer term with an invitation for parents to contact the class teacher if they would like to discuss the report with them.
The school runs a 'buddy' system, where new parents are able to contact parents who have had children in the school for some time and can therefore answer any queries you may have. A list of 'buddies' is available via the school secretary.
The curriculum of the school is designed at every stage to promote racial and religious harmony. Whilst essentially Anglican, the school promotes a greater awareness of different races, cultures and creeds to provide equal opportunities for all regardless of race, sex, religion, social or economic differences. Our school is a Church of England primary school which is controlled by Northamptonshire Local Authority (L.A.).
An important part of ensuring the quality of teaching and support staff through the attendance on carefully selected training courses. The school employs 4 Teaching assistants in the main school and a Nursery Nurse in the Foundation Year Class. We believe that good adult/pupil ratios aid children's comprehension of the subjects taught and we also encourage parents to act as helpers in the classroom.
