We Had FunSPORT
Football
Our Year 3 and 4 football team competed in the Cluster Tournament at Sponne School on January 25th 2012. Although they did not win, they were a credit to
themselves and the school with their enthusiasm and sporting behaviour.
We had a great evening and we're looking forward
to playing some more in future.
Athletics
Congratulations to our Key Stage 2 pupils who took part in the Indoor Athletics competition at Sponne School on
Thursday 12th January. For some it was the first time they had tried the events they competed in, but they were not
concerned and every child did their best in every event.
What makes this achievement even more special is the fact that we
had Year 3 pupils in our team, competing in an event which was meant for pupils in Year 4 and above. None of them were at all
put off by racing against much older and bigger children. It was good to see how our Year 4,5 and 6 pupils encouraged the
younger ones every step of the way. It was a great pleasure to be with them as they not only had a thoroughly good time;
they were also very well behaved throughout.
The team consisted of: Emily Odwell, Samuel Turner, Morgan Verlander, Marley Webb (captain), Kian Wilson,
Sophie Jeffrey, Lauren Cannon, Anna Travella, Jody Cochrane, Charlie Wood, Max Denner, Alex Pluck, Nathan Pluck, Bella Fowler
, Jemma Justice, Katie Hillbourne, Emily Harvie.
Many thanks to the excellent Sports Leadership students at Sponne for the way the event was organised and run.
