Our Vision and Values
At Blakesley CE Primary we value each pupil as a unique
individual and as a young person full of potential. Above all we wish
to create an environment where enjoyment and achievement go hand in hand.
As a Church of England School we promote a caring
community where everyone, children and adults alike, feels welcomed and
valued. We foster the values of honesty, justice, tolerance of
diversity and compassion and encourage the development of reflection and
spirituality through our daily assemblies. Pupils are given
opportunities to debate social and moral issues in dedicated classroom time
and to find opportunities to help those less fortunate than themselves.
We seek to ensure that each pupil meets his/her potential
across a wide and varied curriculum where music, creativity and sporting
skills are valued alongside academic achievement. Pupils are
encouraged to be aspirational and to take advantage of every opportunity.
We place emphasis on the acquisition of good standards in literacy and
numeracy, but we also encourage creativity and the arts. We
acknowledge the important part that new technologies play in learning and
communication and we are committed to providing our whole school school
community with the knowledge, resources and skills to make best use of ICT.
We want our pupils to be confident members of our school
community and the wider community in which we live. We promote
an inclusive ethos, where everyone has a voice and an opportunity for that
voice to be heard. Alongside this we encourage respect for others and,
importantly, self respect. We expect everyone to take responsibility
for their actions and behaviour such as bullying, racial prejudice, lying or
stealing is not condoned.
In order to achieve these goals we recognise the
importance of working in partnership with parents, our community, other
schools and each other. We expect our vision and values apply to
everyone in our school, pupils, governors and staff alike and wish to ensure
that vision is known and shared by all.
